There are law enforcement officers who react and respond to most situations unlike no one else you know. There are no explanations for the things they say or do. They are just different and after a while you either accept them for who they are, appreciate them, or try to ignore them. These types of people are special and they have a seventh sense about them, which no one else can feel or understand but them. Still they seem to solve more crimes, do things that normal people just don’t and can’t do, and they are brilliant; overall better than the rest.

Sometimes investigative situations arise which some officers just seem dumbfounded by what should be done next. Their natural ability doesn’t allow them to move from one place to the other without someone drawing them a map or them having to ask others for confirmation that just maybe they have something, an epiphany which comes and goes like a fleeting moment. The links just don’t come naturally and it is an effort to find a way to combine one fact to the next.
Then there are those who seem to know what the next move is, a sense that they have been there before, without thought or direction they move about somehow in the right place moving in the right direction.
There are people like this who seem to be paranormal. Paranormal is defined by Wikipedia as, “A general term that designates experiences that lie outside the “range of normal experience or scientific explanation” or that indicates phenomena understood to be outside of science’s current ability to explain or measure.”
A law enforcement officer must have the seventh sense to be a great, not good, but a great investigator. There are only a few of them, but there are some who exist in a cosmic type world which no one else has the ability to understand.
At a crime scene the type of officer which fits into the paranormal definition examines and evaluates every detail. This information is processed quickly with the individual having the ability to connect one piece of evidence to the next. This instinctive mental state can’t be taught, learned, demonstrated, either you have it or you don’t.

Sherlock Holmes would be defined as someone who was paranormal. He and Dr. Watson always seemed to be three steps ahead of the illusive murderer or thief. Holmes immediately grasps the significance of the evidence left behind by the killer and what the crime scene told him.
One of Conan Doyle, the creator and author of Sherlock Holmes favorite quotes was, “You will not apply my precept," he said, shaking his head. "How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth? We know that he did not come through the door, the window, or the chimney. We also know that he could not have been concealed in the room, as there is no concealment possible. When, then, did he come?"
The paranormal law enforcement officer waits for the physical, biological, and trace evidence to speak to him. Laboratory analysis will conclude what he already knew, but to be on the safe side the evidence needs to be thoroughly and scientifically identified, collected, stored, and analyzed.

The officer is known in the law enforcement community as a genius and the respect he receives from the majority of his peers speaks loudly when he walks into the room, where heads turn and stare, where you could drop a dime because it is so quiet. Other’s talk about the special gifts he appears to have that no one else seems to share. He is exceptional in everything he does as an investigator. His characteristics speak of someone who is intuitive, intelligent, psychic, calm, collected, confident, personable, competent, and most importantly successful.
The average law enforcement investigator may have the sixth sense many in the criminal justice system talk about investigator’s possessing. However, the seventh sense is something no one really talks about because nobody truly understands it. Credit is not given when an investigator demonstrates that God may have given this investigator something only a few have been blessed with. Exceptional tools he was born with and has learned to apply in all situations.
You may
have never met someone like the above described officer/investigator. If your paths cross you will immediately know it, but you won’t understand it. There needs to be a way to take the characteristics and attributes these types of officers possess and duplicate it. Studying intuitiveness, instincts, common sense, understanding why these officers have so much more to offer needs to be appreciated. As the old saying goes, “There must always be a King in the crowd” and these paranormal officers are just this type of royalty.
